Captain Reef Endeavour - Thursday, September 08, 2011
Thursday had us at Levuka for an all day cultural experience incorporating various optional tours and town walks before lunch. The afternoon offered a visit to a school with the friendly smiling children very proudly showing their classrooms to the passengers. Captain Cook Cruises Fiji is proud to have numerous affiliations and sponsorship arrangements with schools around the islands. During the evenings overnight anchorage we finally had the crab racing. All our wonderful passengers chose to donate their winnings to the school fund – with just a little encouragement by the irrepressible Hospitality Manager Florian.

Captain Reef Endeavour - Thursday, July 07, 2011
Thursday was spent at the famous historical township of Levuka on the island of Ovalau. Levuka was Fiji’s first capital under British colonization in 1870 and the first of everything in modern Fiji is located there – the first public school; Methodist school; cinema; Freemasons Lodge; even the first Morris Hedstrom store – a fascinating, quaint and friendly place. A visit to the local Methodist primary school (undeterred by a little light rain during the afternoon) topped off a very busy day for everyone.
